The Rent the Runway Sample Sale Is On - Ends Sunday April 6th 2014

Deal: Up to 95% off gently used and retired designer dresses. Brands include Nicola Miller, Shoshanna, David Meister, Badgley Mischka, Rebecca Taylor, and more.
When/Where: Monday, March 31 through Sunday, April 6. Mon 12pm—8pm, Tues—Sat 11am—8pm, Sun 11am—3pm. 260 Fifth Avenue between 28th and 29th Sts (212-725-5400)
Link: Rent the Runway
Ends: Sunday, 6 Apr 2014
"Sniff, sniff. Can you smell that? Wedding and prom season is in the air, and so is the Rent the Runway sample sale at 260 Fifth Avenue. When we arrived about an hour and a half after the doors opened to check out designer cocktail dresses and gowns at up to 95% off retail prices, there was a line with about 25 people ahead of us. Luckily, the shopping scene inside wasn't too chaotic—that is, unless you were headed to the dressing room.
Brands you'll find include Halston Heritage, Proenza Schouler, Badgley Mischka, Diane von Furstenberg, Kate Spade New York, Issa, Lilly Pulitzer, Sachin + Babi, Temperley London, and bunches more. It looked like the dresses were for a variety of seasons, with both light and heavy, sleeveless and sleeved styles available.
After you check your bag at the entrance, you'll find floor-length gowns along the left wall, and then racks of cocktail dresses organized by size, from smallest to largest, as you move across the room. There were at least half a dozen racks full of dresses for sizes 0 through 8, three racks each for sizes 10 and 12, and one rack of dresses sized 14 and 16.
Two tables for accessories and handbags. As for accessories, there were mostly necklaces and just a smattering of bracelets, rings, and earrings—all chunky. Original prices started between $80 and $350 and were discounted to between about $75 to $250.
For purses, most of which were very sparkly and could hold scant more than a lipstick and an iPhone, original prices were anywhere from $55 to $1,995 and discounted to between $50 and $450.
A sales associate we spoke with said that, as of now, there are no plans to restock—however, if that changes, the company will send out an email alerting customers of new merchandise. As for further reductions, the last iteration of this sale saw an additional 30% discount on the final day."

YSL Fall 2010 Friends & Family Sample Sale!!!

-Oct. 28th-30th 2010- I attended the 2nd and last days.
  • On the second day there was a larger selection of accessories, shoes and purses than the last on the last day but the prices were the same as the first.
  • On the last EVERYTHING was 50% off, so you can imagine that the selection was more scarce but if you arrived early enough they actually had a new shipment of bags. Sadly by the time I got there they were all gone =[
My experience as a whole was mixed BUT I did walk away with 10 items (3 of which were belts for a friend) so it was worth it!

Tribute patent leather bag Ori. $965 Sale.$100

Gold multi ring $20/Silver ring Ori. $79 Sale.$15/Necklace $20

Belts Ori $200-$400 each Sale. $25 each

MACKAGE SAMPLE SALE!!!!! 12/15-12/17

So I went to the Mackage / Soia & Kyo Sample sale today and it was AWESOME! The sale's going on for another two days so I suggest anyone who's been looking for that perfect winter coat go check it out. I picked myself up a Nev for $334 (ori. $649) and an Isa for $275 (ori. $550). Everything was 50% off retail. There was a huuuge selection mainly for people size XS - they were samples from this season. The rest of the sizes were jackets from the previous seasons. As for Soia & Kyo, the prices were amazingly decent, I saw a cobalt blue long wool jacket for $60. All in all, I got two Mackage jackets and a pair of long fingerless leather gloves for a total of $664, NO TAX! - another reason you should definitely check it out.

To sum this up:
Sizes - XXS - L
Prices- Makage $60 - $1400 Soia & Kyo $60 - $200
Both men and women's jackets- leather, wool, cashmere blend, sherling and puffer
Cash ONLY
NO returns

H&M JIMMY CHOO Event 11/14/09

So I was there before the crack of dawn in shitty wet weather from 5Am to 11:30, staring at the same display for hours until they finally opened the doors at the Lex and 59th location.

It was a mob scene once the doors opened. women grabbing everything they could get their hands on regardless if they really wanted it or not. The way H&M set up the event was incredibly flawed.

  • You received bracelets that designated a time you were able to shop accessories (i.e bags, shoes, jewelry). Unfortunately they didn't apply this system to the clothes so this meant that EVERYONE was able to enter as soon as the doors opened. Long story short this caused chaos!
  • So you waited on line to enter the store. Then you waited to get 10 minutes in the accessories corner. Then you waited on line to pay. Then you waited on line to leave. That's of course assuming you didn't wait on line for the fitting room as well.
Over all it wasn't as horrible as I made it sound and I walked out with six things so it was productive =D
